What Else Can You Do?

1

Start Conversations

Through starting conversations with friends or peers, you can help to create a more unified community and cultivate inclusivity throughout our campus. By having conversations on the Delete Dixie Initiative you are advocating for change and can encourage others to do so as well by simply educating them on the discriminatory history behind the word 'dixie.' To engage in impactful conversations, you can: 1. Educate yourself on the Delete Dixie Initiative 2. Establish good intent 3. Embrace discomfort 4. Avoid judgment 5. Encourage honesty.

2

Send a Letter

In order to advocate for this initiative, send a letter to President Stuart Bell as well as other University officials by simply copying and pasting the attached document and signing your name. By sending in a letter, you are expressing support for the DDI and utilizing your voice as a student to encourage President Bell to take action.

Schedule a Presentation

Scheduling a presentation for your club, organization, or classroom is a great way to raise awareness about this issue and provides an opportunity to create meaningful dialogue. A presenting group will come and show the Delete Dixie video, give a short presentation on the history of the project and its importance, and will open the floor for a Q&A session.

To schedule a presentation please refer to the contact page at the top of this website or use the button below. Please include what setting the presentation will be in (classroom, club, etc.). A DDI member will contact you regarding setting up a time and day.
